STEPPING OUT IN FAITH

By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going (Heb. 11:8).

Abraham did it!  God said, Go—and away Abraham went—even though he did not know where he was going.  Later the Hebrews writer notes God was not ashamed to be called Abraham’s God (Heb. 11:16).

Yesterday I was told, We just stepped out in faith! The reference was to an office full of crock pots that were purchased by ladies to be used in their upcoming Thursday evening Crock Pot Cooking Class. That class begins this Thursday evening here at the Center.

Who knows how this will all turn out?  However, there are several things we do know: 1) Several ladies stepped out in faith planning the class; 2) 85 signed up to take the class (48 for Nov 8 & 37 for Nov. 15;   3)  We have an office full of crock pots; and, 4) We also have a very nice kitchen area which is (awesomely) designed to conduct such classes.  But, 48 ladies with crock pots; someone had better take a picture of this.

What if you had been one of those 2,000,000 people standing on the banks of the Red Sea?  Your first question would have probably been, How in the world will we all get between those walls of water? By faith they did it and just in the nick of time.  But when the Egyptians tried to do so, they were drowned (Heb. 11:29). With the same kind of faith as the Israelites, our ladies will pull this off withtheir faith and help from above—to the Glory of God!  h
